About the South Florida Get Together (SFLGTG)

The South Florida Get Together was created in January of 2001 by South Florida VW enthusiast Justin Miller, who was looking to organize a group of VW and Audi enthusiasts that could casually meet every couple of months. From those meager beginnings of three VW Passat owners hanging out in a parking lot in Deerfield Beach came one of the largest and fastest growing VW/Audi events in the United States.

Today, the South Florida Get Together is held annually and attendance has soared to over 1200 people and 600 cars. The event was once a small informal get-together held wherever the group could find a spot, and today it is a day-long event held at major venues in sunny South Florida. From the humble crowd of a few VW/Audi enthusiasts, the event has now drawn hundreds of VW and Audi enthusiasts from all over the world. While the main draw of the event is the numerous cars representing decades of VW and Audi models, the event also includes an all-you-can-eat BBQ, an extensive line of vendor booths, a raffle, and more. And best of all - unlike other large events - everyone gets together in a fun, non-competitive, no-pressure environment.

The gathering of fine European automotive craftsmanship in one location, the ability to get up close to those super exotics that you’ve just seen in a magazine. Hang out with friends or test your skills on the track. This event will be for you.

Show up on Friday and hang out with us, friends, sponsors and vendors at the cocktail reception at the Four Points Sheraton.
Hang out for a Mexican Buffet Dinner being held on Saturday evening at the Sheraton.

We have so much planned, there is something to do for everyone.

Location world famous Sebring Raceway
Eurowerx is being held at the world famous Sebring Raceway, home of one o the most grueling automotive endurance races, The 12 and 24 hours of Sebring. EuroWerx is unique in the fact that it can offer something to just about everyone that enjoys European automobiles. On Sunday the entire 3.7 mile track will be available to those drivers that are looking to test themselves and their cars.

Drive Events
Track full 3.7 mile high speed track (Sunday June 1st.)
Instructor training for new track drivers, 30 minute sessions with 35 cars per session throughout the day.
Cost: $80 for the first session. $70 for every other session after that.

Auto Cross with skid pad
You can drive, but can you drive technical. This course will test your abilities and the attached skid pad will make it interesting as well.
1 hr. sessions with 40 cars per session
Cost: $45

Food
Yes, we are going to have food. Not just the hamburgers and hot dog kind of food your used to but the shaved ice, Italian sausage with grilled onions, beef on a stick kind of food. What you would find at a festival. MMMM, good!!

Camping
Yes, you can come and camp. We will provide overnight security so there is nothing to worry about. Just contact us if you have further questions. Please be aware this is a fun event and we can NOT have dogs, snakes or anything else that might freak someone else out. Play it smart and think about it first. If you wonder if we might say anything, it just might be wise to leave it at home. If you break the rules you will b asked to leave and any and all monies lost. Sorry to be so hard but it’s safety for everyone involved.

Safety / Security
This an area we hope we do not have to say a great deal about. Security will be provided by Gforce and will employ off duty officers. Do something dumb and there is no arguing with us about it. You will have to deal with them. Once again this goes back to safety for attendees and their families, our sponsors, our vendors and everyone else included.

Registration and Sign-up
This event will be on ONLINE REGISTRATION ONLY! We will not be taking any money at the gate. The reason for this is that everyone that registers will receive not only a t-shirt but a badge with bar coded information. This will be your only entry into EuroWerx.Badges will be issued for attendees, vendors, sponsors everyone that attends.

The first meet for talkJDM.com will be held on February 9th @ 12:00-4:00pm. Location will be Red Bug Lake Park. I hope you guys can make it out there. Let your friends know about it and be sure to roll out there … Its just a fun meet. Unfortunately, no free food, raffles, etc … Just a normal meet to just relax and enjoy.

This all-day show is the auto enthusiasts dream! You will be able to enjoy a perfect day walking the Colonial TownPark concourse, viewing some of the most powerful and highly-tuned cars from around the world on display for public viewing: International and American Customs, European Exotics, High Power Racers, custom bikes and more. The streets are lined with great shops, restaurants and attractions as well as a variety of sponsor and vendor booths to make your visit relaxing and enjoyable.

SUNDAY DRIVE - Sunday February 3rd, 9am
This is a great tradition open to registered participants only. We will depart at 10am from Colonial TownPark and take a cruise some of the most scenic highways in Central Florida escorted by The Florida Department of Highway Patrol. This is one more chance to show off your car and enjoy a Sunday Drive with other car enthusiasts.

The Official 2008 Southeast Regional DSM/EVO Meet (February 15-17th 2008) looks very very promising as did the previous Southeast Regional DSM/EVO Meet. Click the link above to check out some pictures and all of the information for the event as I’m not going to copy the event information word for word and steal DSMPurity’s bandwith.

 The host hotel for this years meet will be:

Homewood Suites by Hilton located at 10434 Midtown Parkway, Jacksonville, FL 32246. LUNAR-FX has put a great deal of work into making sure everyones car is in a safe place and that there is no problems with the hotel having 50+ DSM/Evos in the parking lot and so on.
